Jennifer Rice, Founder
Jennifer is a big-picture thinker and synthesizer who’s driven by the challenge of getting organizations and systems unstuck. She brings 20+ years in deeply understanding stakeholder motivations, creating shared visions, and designing platforms that unify and align diverse departments and organizations. Prior to BrightPassage, she focused for five years on driving brand and business goals through sustainability and CSR. Jennifer formerly led large-scale, data-driven strategy projects at Prophet, a global management consultancy in brand, customer experience and innovation for Fortune 500 companies. Her client roster includes Monsanto, Environmental Defense Fund, Johnson & Johnson, HP, McGraw-Hill, Microsoft, Emaar Hospitality, BT, Cisco, and others. “Silos to systems,” co-creation and networked knowledge have been passions for over 10 years.
Sean Martin, Multi-Stakeholder Alignment
Sean brings 15 years of experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration and organizational development. Previously at Blu Skye and Trium Group, Sean believes the best ideas for creating prosperity and greater good for the world involve multiple organizations acting together, whether across an industry or a supply chain, and has proven many times over that his collaborative approach yields breakthrough results. Sean has led sector-level projects with the US Battery, Aluminum and Dairy industries, and has worked directly with some the world’s leading companies such as Microsoft, Wal-Mart, Waste Management, Proctor & Gamble, Alcoa, Energizer, Hilton and many more.
Mary Gilbert, Change Measurement
Mary has spent the last 20+ years on the forefront of Big Data, Consumer Engagement, Loyalty Marketing, and CRM, and is now applying that expertise to accelerate global change through a more human-focused approach to business. She brings proven technology and leadership experience as a founder of Miller/Huber Relationship Marketing, a shop that became a West Coast leader in online technology marketing, and as a key leader in the exceptional growth of the McCann Worldgroup/MRM San Francisco office. Mary has worked with leading brands such as AOL, Cisco, 3Com, EA, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Sun, Oracle, Wells Fargo, and Mindjet.
Ben Metcalfe, Ecosystem/Platform Designer
An early pioneer of designing and executing developer ecosystems, Ben is one the most experienced experts in this field. He began work on “BBC Backstage”, the BBC’s developer platform, in 2004 and since then has gone on to lead platform strategies and rollouts for MySpace, Orange France Telecom, Neustar and WP Engine (a hosting platform for WordPress). Ben is uniquely placed, with leading industry experience having designed, built and executed platforms in both operator/executive and strategic consultancy roles. He has a track record of identifying platform opportunities ahead of the curve and defensively building + positioning to obtain first mover advantage.
Jerry Michalski, Futurist
Jerry Michalski (ma-call-ski) is the founder of REX, the Relationship Economy eXpedition, which is a private, collaborative inquiry into the next economy. He also works with organizations including Best Buy, EDF and Institute for the Future in an advisory capacity. Jerry is a pattern finder, lateral thinker, Gladwellian connector, facilitator and explorer of the interactions between technology, society and business. Jerry earned an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA in Economics (mostly econometrics) from UC Irvine. He was raised in Peru and Argentina and speaks fluent Spanish and German — and pretty passable French.
Anne French, Strategy & Insights
Anne has 20+ years of marketing, general management, and branding experience helping businesses, non-profits, and educational institutions sustainably grow. She has consistently developed and executed strategies to innovate, build high performance teams, and accelerate topline and margin growth in organizations focused on improving people’s daily lives. Anne is skilled at uncovering latent needs, behaviors and desires that lead to breakthrough brands and innovations. Client experience includes GE, Georgia Pacific, J&J, Facebook, Reinventure Capital, and Colgate.
Dave Witzel, Ecosystem Innovation
Dave helps catalyze organizational ecosystems — creating and strengthening relationships amongst businesses, government agencies, academia, non-profits, and citizens — to produce social value on a large scale. Previously he was Director of Environmental Defense Fund’s Innovation Exchange, where he helped launch the Green Innovators in Business Network and explored new approaches for partnering with business to improve environmental performance. Before joining EDF, David spent more than 12 years as founder and managing director of Forum One Communications where he focused on online knowledge-sharing and community-building to advance social objectives in public and private organizations. He is author of “Designing Open Projects: Lessons From Internet Pioneers” released by IBM Center for the Business of Government last year and co-wrote “Citizen Voice in a Globalized World” for the Global Citizen Foundation this year. David has a MPP from Harvard’s Kennedy School and a BS from Texas A&M University.
Bill Veltrop, Cultural Transformation
Bill is a senior social architect with extensive experience in the fields of organization design, learning and change. A pioneer in organic action-learning approaches to leadership development, he has designed and led numerous generative leadership learning expeditions. Bill’s professional background includes over 35 years of experience in leading innovative organization design and large-scale change implementations in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Far East, both as an internal at Exxon and later as an external consultant. Bill’s deep commitment is to the ‘metamorphosis’ of our social systems throughout our planet (education, health care, commerce, governance, media, agriculture, etc.), in a way that best serves all life — for all time.
Max Shkud, Cultural Transformation
Max brings extensive corporate experience in management, product development, and organization development and change. During his career at Snapfish and later HP, Max led several large scale, division-wide initiatives focusing on business transformation and innovative organization design. In 2009, after completing an advanced degree in Organization Development at Pepperdine University, Max chose to dedicate himself to his deep passion for social architecture and generative social system design, which he considers his life’s work. Max firmly believes that reinventing the social architecture of our systems is our most potent lever for solving today’s many crises, and a sure pathway to sustainable prosperity and well-being for humanity and all life on our planet.
Harold Jarche, Organizations as Networks
Harold works with organizations that are challenged with becoming more networked, collaborative, and distributed, all the while remaining agile in changing markets. He helps public and private organizations face complexity and create better ways of working and learning. David Hodson, Network Weaver
David designs and creates innovation ecosystems focused on addressing the profound global challenges of the 21st century. An architect of human and social innovation, Nick designs experiences and tools that apply science, philosophy & psychology to drive creativity, change and transformation. He focuses on innovation problems that matter, and is a global expert on breakthrough innovation delivered through transformative leadership.
